From 2 July until 2 September, 67 uniquely designed sculptures of Nick Park's Academy Award®-winning characters Wallace, Gromit and Feathers McGraw will hit the streets of Bristol and the surrounding area to raise money for Bristol Children’s Hospital, and we’re delighted to be a sponsor!
We are pleased to reveal that our sponsored sculpture aptly named ‘Cracking Build Gromit!’, is engineered by the creative minds at LEGO Group. Hand built by expert LEGO® Model Builders, the Gromit sculpture was created from an incredible 30,456 LEGO bricks and took over 120 hours to build.
We’ll also be home to three other sculptures situated in Quakers Friars, Showcase Cinema de Lux and House of Fraser.
With the locations spread across the city, visitors to the trail will be able to find, learn about and even interact with sculptures by discovering ‘trails within trails’ across the North, East, South and West of Bristol. A printed map, available at various locations including our Information Desk, will be available at the start of July.
A Gromit Unleashed 2 app will be available to help avid trail fans to hunt down sculptures, while a special passport trail will be created to celebrate the trail’s innovation themes. New Gromit Unleashed 2-inspired products, including the popular figurines, will be available for purchase with all proceeds benefiting patients and families cared for by Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael’s Hospital.
