Cabot Circus is proud to announce that it will be supporting Breast Cancer Care as its 2010/2011 Charity of the Year with a fundraising target of £100,000.
Look out for a calendar of unique fundraising events throughout the year including exciting Strawberry Tea event in Quakers Friars on Saturday 7 August to launch our partnership.
There are more than half a million people in the UK who’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer and every year another 46,000 women and men hear the devastating news that they have disease. Amazingly, 1,080 people are diagnosed each year in the Bristol area – that’s more than 20 every week. Dealing with this diagnosis can be an overwhelming, frightening and often lonely experience not just for the person diagnosed, but for their partner, family and friends.
Breast Cancer Care are just a phone call or mouse-click away for anyone affected by breast cancer. The free Helpline, information-packed website and online forums offer a friendly ear and expert advice to those dealing with the turmoil of this life-threatening illness. Across the UK they also offer professional support through a range of confidential, face-to-face services, helping people every step of the way.
